Our office offers high resolution retinal photography through a digital imaging system. This test lets us take a picture inside your eye which:
The procedure takes approximately 2 minutes and requires the patient to look into a machine at a camera flash for each eye.
Retinal imaging is recommended for all patients as they allow for our doctors to provide a higher level of care.
Commonly know as an OCT, this test allows the doctor to take high resolution cross-section images of the ocular tissues in the back of the eye. These scans better help the optometrist diagnose ocular conditions and determine management plans. This information is often crucial for detecting early changes from eye diseases, such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. OCT scans have become the gold standard in comprehensive optometric care and we are thrilled to be offering this service at Lakeview Vision.
This technology allows us to plot out the field of vision of the patient to determine any visual field defects. An optometrist can interpret a visual field to diagnose and track the progression of a variety of ocular diseases.
Visual field testing is also used to determine if patients meet the visual requirements for driving licenses or visually demanding careers.
Corneal topography is a non-invasive imaging technique that maps the surface curvature of the cornea—the clear, front part of the eye. This detailed, 3D map helps us detect irregularities and diagnose conditions such as keratoconus, astigmatism, or corneal scarring.
For patients who require specialty contact lenses, such as scleral lenses, ortho-keratology lenses or custom rigid gas-permeable lenses, corneal topography is essential. The detailed corneal maps guide us in designing lenses that fit precisely to the unique shape of your eye, ensuring optimal comfort, stability, and vision. This personalized approach results in significantly better outcomes, especially for patients who haven’t had success with standard soft lenses.
